Old Trafford awaits Celta Vigo

Celta Vigo vs United
Celta Vigo will play United in the 2nd leg of Europa League 2016/17
Man United will take a handy 1-0 lead to their home, Old Trafford as they edge closer to the final. Jose Mourinho’s side are favourites against Celta vigo and they must advance.

United left it late to make a mark last week, thanks to Marcus Rashford for that brace. Now they must be relieved as we know that in recent times Manchester United have faltered at Old Trafford more likely then they would have liked.

The Red Devils followed this up with a disappointing 0-2 loss at the Emirates. Now they are further behind in their race for a top four finish. That ship seems to have sailed. Winning the Europa League now seems their only possible ticket to next season’s Champions League.

The defeat against Arsenal ended their 12 match unbeaten run in all competitions as they lost their first match since October last year. But the manager must be hoping for things to become normal, come Thursday.

At Old Trafford, since that loss to Man City in September, they have won 17 out of 28 games. Slight problem, if you might call it, is that they have drawn 11 games out of those 28. But a draw would just do it for now against Celta Vigo.

The visitors need also be aware of the fact that, United have won 5 of the 6 Europa League home games this season! This should be a huge motivational boast for United.

The recent form of Celta haven’t been good either, considering that 0-3 loss at Malaga on sunday. Now Celta are on the 11th position in La Liga.

As United hold a slender advantage and struggling to break down oppositions in recent times, this should be a low scoring affair. Man United have scored fewer than three goals in six of their last seven home matches. So let’s see what happens on Thursday night!
