Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid – Preview

Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid
Real Madrid will play Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon
Zinedine Zidane’s side will take on Atletico Madrid in 2nd leg of the UEFA Champions League Semi Final having a 3-0 1st leg lead. Real Madrid though woudn’t take anything for granted, although it would take a phenomenol attempt from Diego Simeone’s side.

Pepe, Gareth Bale & Daniel Carvajal are all sidelined for the visitors because of injury.

The predicted line-up for Real Madrid should be :

GK Keylor Navas

Defenders Nacho(RB), Sergio Ramos(CB), Raphael Varane(CB) & Marcelo(LB)

Midfielders Toni Kroos(CM), Casemiro(CM) & Luka Modric(CM)

Attackers Isco(RW), Karim Benzema(CF) & Cristiano Ronaldo(LW)

Atletico Madrid has had the weakest season so far since Simeone took charge, despite having a respected line-up which includes the Frenchman, Antoine Griezmann. They might still finish 3rd in La Liga and qualify to play again in the Champions league next season.

Recently for Real Madrid, Zidane rested a few key players in a match against Granada where James Rodriguez & Alvaro Morata took advantage & scored a brace each as Los Blancos won 4-0.

Coming back to the Champions League, in the 1st leg Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hattrick & stole the show, this time again he would be looking to do the same. This is also a 3rd consecutive Champions League season in which Real & Atletico are meeting each other at the very end.

Everyone is expecting Real Madrid to come out on top against Atletico & make no mistake, they are coming as well! For Atletico to succeed, they have to keep Los Blancos strikers at bay. This will be near impossible to do as we know Real have one of the strongest attacking line-ups in the world at the moment.

Simeone’s men would ideally look to score early to have an edge in the game from starting & then look to attack on the counters. All in all this should be on paper atleast a competitive match.
