Chelsea will play Valencia on Tuesday in 2019/20 UEFA Champions League as the tournament begins. The Blues go into this game as the favourites.

Kick-off : 8:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Stamford Bridge, London

Chelsea come of a fantastic win over Wolves in 2019/20 Premier League, a good 5-2 win and now must shift focus to the Champions League.

The Blues have got a tough group in terms of Ajax, Valencia and Lille. Chelsea will look to dominate all three.

First up are Valencia at home. This should be interesting howsoever good Chelsea’s chances might be at home.

The Blues will need to be vary of Valencia’s attacking players like Rodrigo.

While Chelsea themselves have the likes of Tammy Abraham up front. So a good test for the Valencia defence.

On the other hand, Valencia themselves are struggling in La Liga, so they will eye Champions League as a competition to build on the reputation.

They need to play good football especially considering they have got Ajax and Chelsea in their group. Those are tough opponents against whom points will be hard to come by.

Los Ches need to defend well against Chelsea as we saw against Barcelona in the recent La Liga loss, they were here and there. That doesn’t need to happen in London if going for points. Good luck to them.

Chelsea have a very good record against Valencia and they will continue the good work.

Team news and possible line-ups

Geoffrey Kondogbia is available for Valencia and will likely be named in the starting XI.

As for The Blues, Antonio Rudiger will not be available as due to injury.

Valencia XI : Cillessen, Wass, Garay, Paulista, Gaya, Torres, Coquelin, Kondogbia, Parejo, Guedes, Rodrigo.

Chelsea XI : Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Zouma, Christensen, Tomori, Jorginho, Kovacic, Alonso, Mount, Pulisic, Abraham.

Prediction

It should be a good contest but I would expect Chelsea to get the job done and register first points on board. The Blues to win this game 3-1.
