Man United to play Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday in Moldova in the Europa League

Manchester United will play Sheriff Tiraspol in UEFA Europa League 2022/23 as the tournament moves ahead. United go into this game as the favourites.

Kick-off : 7:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Zimbru Stadium, Chisinau

Manchester United suffered defeat in the first game of their new Europa League campaign narrowly to Real Sociedad. They will be looking for a win in their next fixture.

The Red Devils side are not in a so tough group considering lack of experienced Moldovan and Cyprus sides. They just need to make sure they defend in their usual way and score plenty up front.

Manager Erik ten Hag will likely use his 4-2-3-1 formation.

On the other hand, Sheriff Tiraspol registered a wonderful victory over Omonia in Cyprus. They will look to make merry of the lead and get one over biggies Man United.

Sheriff know they have a trick group with Real Sociedad also in and they must be on their A game. They need to defend strongly and counter at opportunity against The Red Devils.

Coach Stjepan Tomas might use a 4-3-3 system on Thursday.

Team news and possible lineups

Anthony Martial is injured for Manchester United ahead of the midweek fixture.

As for Sheriff, Dumitru Celeadnic is a doubt. While Moussa Kyabou is available and will likely play.

Manchester United XI : De Gea, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia, Eriksen, McTominay, Antony, Fernandes, Sancho, Rashford.

Sheriff Tiraspol XI : Koval, Zohouri, Kiki, Radeljic, Kpozo, Badolo, Kyabou, Diop, Ouattara, Atiemwen, Akanbi.

I expect Manchester United to dominate in this fixture given their seniority and experience at this level but Sheriff should play good football also at home. Man United should win this fixture 2-0 with goals from Sancho & Fernandes.
