Team India look to bounce back after Birmingham Test loss

India vs England
India will play England in the 2nd Test of the five match series starting from Thursday the 9th of August
India and England will once again go head to head from Thursday in the 2nd Test after England’s win in the first Test. Both teams will again be looking for a win here.

Date and Time : 9th-13th August, 3:30 PM IST

Venue : Lord’s, London

India should have won the first Test instead of loosing it and as a result would have come into this game leading 1-0, but it is what it is and they will need to play much better cricket than England over the course of next five days if they are to get to level terms.

The batsmen were the big reason for the Birmingham loss and they will certainly need to up their game.

On the other hand, England will be overjoyed by the fact that they got out of jail in the first Test match and registered an unexpected win. They will just need to carry on the winning momentum in London.

Batting will need improvement but Bowling was quite good and it will be their strong point again.

Team news and possible line-ups

Ollie Pope is likely to make Test debut in the Lord’s Test for England. While Ben Stokes has been replaced by Chris Woakes who has a court hearing.

As for India, Cheteshwar Pujara is available and will likely play.

England XI : Cook, Jennings, Root (C), Buttler, Bairstow (WK), Pope, Woakes, Rashid, Anderson, Broad, Curran.

India XI : Vijay, Dhawan, Pujara, Kohli (C), Rahane, Karthik (WK), Pandya, Ashwin, U. Yadav, Shami, I. Sharma.

Prediction

After the win in the opening Test England certainly are stronger on paper but India will be looking to bounce back. May the best team over the course of five days win the Test match.
