India eye clean sweep in Mumbai T20I

India vs Sri Lanka
India will play Sri Lanka in the final T20I on Sunday
India have already won the T20I series and now eye a clean sweep on Sunday. Team India once again start as favorites for this game.

Date and Time : 24th December 2017, 7:00 PM (IST)

Venue : Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai

Yesterday was a fantastic day for Indian cricket as they posted their highest ever T20I total and again won by a huge margin.

Captain Rohit Sharma was in sublime form and has now a new record to his name – The joint fastest T20I ton. He reached the milestone in just 35 balls and equaled David Miller.

India will hope for another similar performance on Sunday in order to force the clean sweep and go to South Africa with a positive frame of mind.

The Sri Lankans on the other hand, have had a year to forget in 2017 and will hope to win the last game to salvage some pride.

Mumbai ground is also a high scoring ground and we can expect a run fest on Sunday night. The captain who wins the toss will like to bowl first.

Team news and possible line-ups

I don’t think Sri Lanka will change much from the second game. Although Angelo Mathews will probably be replaced by Dasun Shanaka as the former had a hamstring problem.

As for India, They will probably rotate the squad and give some youngster a chance now that the series is sealed. In that case we might see Basil Thampi and Deepak Hooda in the XI.

Sri Lanka XI : Tharanga, Dickwella (WK), K. Perera, Samarawickrama, T. Perera (C), Gunaratne, D. Shanaka, C. de Silva, A. Dananjaya, Chameera, N. Pradeep.

India XI : R. Sharma (C), L. Rahul, Iyer, D. Hooda, M. Pandey, Dhoni (WK), H. Pandya, K. Yadav, Thampi, Chahal, Bumrah.

Prediction

I expect India to make another clean sweep on Sunday night.
