Team India eye winning start against England in three match ODI series

India vs England
India and England will play each other on Thursday in the 1st ODI of the three match series
India and England are set to play each other on Thursday in the first ODI of a three match series of the ongoing India tour of England. Team India go into this game as the favorites.

Date and Time : 12th July 2018, 5:00 PM IST

Venue : Trent Bridge, Nottingham

India played extremely well in the T20I series as they won it and now have their eyes set on the ODI series. They can achieve this feat too if they play to their potential.

But they need to be careful of this England team who recently whitewashed the mighty Australians. The India batters and bowlers will both have a job to do again as they did in the T20 series.

On the other hand, England will have to make a comeback and return to winning ways especially after that 1-2 T20I series drubbing. They are capable of that and just need to raise their game against a team like India.

It’s not going to be easy but I expect England to give their all and maybe get the win.

India have a better record in ODI’s against England and they will look to extend it.

Team news and possible line-ups

Mark Wood is available for England and will play Thursday’s game. While Joe Root, who was rested for the final T20I is also available and will likely play.

As for India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is doubtful for the midweek game. Whereas Kuldeep Yadav is available and will likely play.

England XI : Morgan (C), Roy, Bairstow, Root, Buttler, Stokes, Ali, Plunkett, Willey, Rashid, Wood.

India XI : Kohli (C), R. Sharma, Dhawan, Rahul, Dhoni, Raina, Pandya, B. Kumar, K. Yadav, Chahal, U. Yadav.

Prediction

I expect England to give a tough fight but in the end I think India are gonna win.
