Team India eye win in Johannesburg Test to salvage pride

India vs South Africa
India will play South Africa in the final Test of the series starting from Wednesday
India will play South Africa in the third and final Test of the three match series starting from Wednesday. South Africa have already won the series and India will play for pride.

Date and Time : 24-28 January 2018, 1:30 PM IST

Venue : Wanderers, Johannesburg

South Africa have played the best cricket so far in the series and hence they have won it and will be eyeing a whitewash. Team India needs to be very careful and mindful of the fact.

Indian bowlers have done their job and it’s the batters who have let us down. If they can address this issue then obviously they can taste a win.

It’s not easy to tour South Africa and India have already known this from the past series’s. If they are eyeing success here then they have to give their best and also have some luck by their side.

India have a good record at the Wanderers as they have play the Proteas four times here. Out of that they have won once and drawn thrice. They just need to be in a positive frame of mind.

Team news and possible line-ups

South Africa are less likely to alter their playing XI. Although the news from Johannesburg is that the pitch is sporting a lot of grass. It means South Africa might think of resting Keshav Maharaj and play Theunis de Bruyn.

As for India, they will likely play Bhuvneshwar Kumar in place of Ishant Sharma. Also Parthiv Patel will probably retain his place.

South Africa XI : Elgar, Markram, Amla, De Villiers, Du Plessis (C), De Kock (WK), Philander, Rabada, Maharaj, Ngidi, M. Morkel.

India XI : Vijay, Rahul, Pujara, Kohli (C), R. Sharma, P. Patel (WK), H. Pandya, Ashwin, B. Kumar, Bumrah, Shami.

Prediction

South Africa are the favorites for this game but I expect India to bounce back and win the Test.
