South Africa tour of India 2022 – 1st T20I, match preview, predicted lineups

Ind vs SA
India take on South Africa in the first T20I today

India and South Africa go head to head against each other in the first game of the T20I series as South Africa tour of India 2022 moves ahead. Both teams will be looking for a win here.

Date & Time : 28th September 2022, 7:00 PM IST

Venue : Greenfield Stadium, Trivandrum

Team India after a great series against the Aussies recently which they won 2-1 will look to continue playing similarly at home in a new series against strong opponents South Africa.

India have a strong squad and they will look to put high scores on board to trouble the opposite team. Bowling is one area they need to get things right before the World Cup.

On the other hand, South Africa are coming from a tour of England and will focus on defeating India at their home. They will look to play quality cricket.

The Proteas have a strong squad and they can score big while bowling is quality and they will need to execute the game plans.

Coming for the wicket, it will be useful for bowlers but batting can score.

Team news and possible lineups

There are no fresh injury concerns for both sides at the moment.

India XI : R. Sharma (C), KL Rahul, Kohli, S. Yadav, Pant (WK), D. Karthik, Chahal, A. Patel, Bumrah, H. Patel, A. Singh.

South Africa XI : Q. de Kock (C), R. Hendricks, D. Miller, Bavuma (C), Rossouw, Stubbs, Markram, Pretorius, Shamsi, Rabada, Nortje.

Prediction

It should be easy for India as they are in good running form overcoming Australia but they must take the challenge of South Africa without complacency. I think they will and hence I think they must win the first one here in Kerala and lead 1-0.
