New Zealand tour of Ireland 2022 – 2nd ODI, match preview, predicted lineups

Ire vs NZ
New Zealand will play Ireland in the second ODI of the 3-match series on Tuesday

New Zealand and Ireland go head to head in the second ODI of the 3-match series as NZ tour of Ireland 2022 moves ahead. Both teams will be looking for a win here.

Date & Time : 12th July 2022, 10:45 AM (Local)

Venue : The Village, Malahide

New Zealand were saved in the last game courtesy of Michael Bracewell’s century. Ireland couldn’t handle the pressure well in a game where they could have won. New Zealand wouldn’t want a repeat of that performance.

The batsman weren’t at their best as a lot of them got starts. Bowling wise New Zealand leaked runs at the end which cost them a huge total to chase.

The Kiwis have their third and final game on the 15th.

On the other hand, Ireland were in the driver’s seat once they post 300 but couldn’t capitalise at crucial moments and nearly defeated New Zealand. They would want similar performance on Tuesday to snatch a win and level series.

The Irish batting will require a combined effort while bowling need to be on spot.

For the wicket, it’s the same ground as the last game and both teams will know the dimensions. Batting flourishes on this track with bowling need to be bang on accurate.

Team news and possible lineups

There are no fresh injury concerns for both sides at the moment.

New Zealand XI : Guptill, F. Allen, Young, Latham (C&WK), Phillips, Nicholls, Henry, M. Bracewell, Sodhi, Tickner, L. Ferguson.

Ireland XI : Balbirnie (C), Stirling, McBrine, Tector, Dockrell, Tucker (WK), Adair, S. Singh, Campher, C. Young, Little.

Prediction

I think this game should be another close game with a do-or-die for Ireland, may the best team the day which commits less mistakes win this one.
