South Africa tour of Australia 2022/23 – 2nd Test, match preview, predicted lineups

Aus vs Sa
In the second Test in Melbourne starting tomorrow Australia take on South Africa

Australia take on South Africa in the 2nd Test match starting tomorrow as he tour moves ahead. Australia come into this game as the favourites.

Date and Time : 26-30 December 2022, 10:30 AM (Local)

Venue : MCG, Melbourne

Australia defeated South Africa in the first Test by 6 wickets in a low-scoring encounter. They will look to win the series in Melbourne.

Aussie batters know how to score at home and will exploit conditions beautifully  In terms of their bowling the bowlers will again look to dominate South Africa.

Coach Andrew McDonald will have his plans ready for the Boxing Day Test.

On the other hand, South Africa were disappointing in their first Test at Brisbane as they now look to get ack on track with series on the line. They will have to play quality cricket.

The Proteas will have to bat deep in MCG too fully challenge the Australians. On the bowling front they will have to be clinical.

Coach Maketa will need to strategise according to the conditions.

As for the wicket, it will be good for batting and bowling.

Team news and possible lineups

Both teams are likely going to go with same XI as in the previous game.

Australia XI : D. Warner, U. Khawaja, Labuschagne, S. Smith, Head, Green, Carey (WK), Cummins (C), Starc, Lyon, Boland.

South Africa XI : D. Elgar (C), S. Erwee, R. van der Dussen, Bavuma, K. Zondo, K. Verreynne (WK), Jansen, K. Maharaj, Rabada, Nortje, Ngidi.

Prediction

It is not difficult to call Australia favourites for this one given their form and aptness to conditions. They will have Boxing Day Test matches experience. I expect Australia to get the job done and win.
