Liverpool will host Everton on Sunday in the Premier League

Liverpool and Everton will lock horns on Sunday in the Merseyside derby in 2021/22 Premier League as the season nears it’s conclusion. Both teams will look for a win here.

Kick-off : 4:30 PM (Local)

Venue : Anfield, Liverpool

Liverpool are in commanding position this season in PL as they are competing with Man City for the title. They need to win all their games and hope City drop points.

The Reds are currently second in the points table after 32 games with 76 points.

Manager Jurgen Klopp will ask his players to step up and win another one here. He will deploy 4-3-3 against Everton. They know pressing up high is a good tactic and Everton have conceded a lot this season.

On the other hand, Everton are having a forgettable season and are fighting for relegation spots. They need to win.

The Toffees are at present 17th in the points table after 31 matches with just 29 points in kitty. They are a point clear of Burnley with a game in hand.

Manager Frank Lampard uses the 4-3-3 formation and he will stick to it. A solid unit will be required to stop Liverpool’s attack plus try for goal as they move ahead.

In terms of the head to head, The Reds are ahead in the PL with 76 games won to Everton’s 52. 65 games have been a draw with 193 games played.

Team news and possible lineups

Barring Roberto Firmino, Liverpool have a fully fit squad to choose from.

As for Everton, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Donny van de Beek and Andre Gomes are all unavailable.

Liverpool XI : Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Tsimikas, Henderson, Fabinho, Keita, Salah, Jota, Diaz.

Everton XI : Pickford, Coleman, Mina, Godfrey, Mykolenko, Delph, Allan, Iwobi, Gordon, Richarlison, Grey.

Prediction

I expect it to be one-sided with Liverpool punishing Everton in the Merseyside derby. Them to win 3-0.
