India vs Bangladesh – Preview

India vs Bangladesh
India are strong favorites against the Bangladeshi Tigers
India and Bangladesh are set to go head to head in the semi-final of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy on Thursday at Edgbaston. The Bangladeshi’s will play in their first semi-final of a major tournament.

Their is contrasting difference in the quality of both teams. For India it’s their fourth semi-final in four years. But Bangladesh have been playing some good cricket of late. So they deserve to be here.

India have been good so far in this tournament except in the game against Sri Lanka. They don’t need to commit those same mistakes which they did against Sri Lanka, but should bank on the positives from the games they have won.

After their win against South Africa, Kohli said, “We played in Birmingham before. We like that pitch. It suits our game.”

“There’s no looking back. There’s always room for improvement. We can’t rest on your laurels.”

The other semi-final will be played on Wednesday between Pakistan and England. So that makes it three of the four teams in the semi’s being from the sub-continent.

Coming back to semi-final 2, India have a better record against Bangladesh. The Indians have won 26 of their 32 ODI’s against the Bangladeshi’s, with the tigers winning just 5 and one game ending as a no result.

It was against India that “The Fizz” first announced himself, Bangladesh then had a memorable series win against the Indians. This time though the Indians will be more prepared to face him, but he will still be the key for Bangladesh.

On the other hand India’s key man will be the captain himself, Virat Kohli. He has a great record against the Bangladeshi’s. So, we should see some fireworks from Kohli.

Prediction

Over all this should be a good competitive ODI fixture with India emerging as winners.
