India vs Sri Lanka
India defeated Sri Lanka by an innings and 239 runs in Nagpur Test
Familiar story was repeated as India defeated Sri Lanka by a huge margin of an innings and 239 runs in Nagpur Test. India now go 1-0 up in the three match series.

Having won the Toss, Sri Lanka opted to bat first. The decision was soon proved wrong as they were bowled out on the first day.

Indian bowlers bowled so well that the Sri Lanka batters failed to make full use of the conditions. Ashwin (67/4) and Jadeja (56/3) were exceptional and the spin duo once again did it for India.

The Indian batters didn’t disappoint either as they made the most of the opportunity given and made sure that India bat only once in this Test match.

Four Indian batsman scored centuries in the first innings as Sri Lankan bowlers failed to impress. Captain Virat Kohli (213), who was later adjudged man of the match, scored his fifth double hundred.

Cheteshwar Pujara (143) was as usual at his best as he alongside returning Murali Vijay (128) steered India’s innings after the loss of an early wicket of KL Rahul.

Rohit Sharma (102*) also made full of the opportunity given as India asserted total dominance in the game and took a lead of 400 runs.

It was all catching game now for the Sri Lankans as they looked to save the Test. But all hopes were dented as their was a spirited Indian bowling line-up awaiting.

The match was won in the first session on day 4 as Sri Lanka lost seven wickets as every Indian bowler got a wicket.

Later Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 166 runs soon after Lunch as India deservedly won the game they dominated.

Ravi Ashwin (63/4) in the second innings reached the milestone of 300 Test wickets in just 54 games. He is now the fastest to this mark.

All in all it was a good game for India as they played like the best team in the world should.
