India eye series win in Delhi

India vs Sri Lanka
India will play Sri Lanka in the 3rd Test Match in Delhi
India having won convincingly in Nagpur now aim for a series win in Delhi. India go into this game as the favorites.

Date and Time : 2-6 December 2017, 9:30 AM IST

Venue : Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi

India have shown in recent times their ruthlessness in Test cricket. They have proven why they are the number 1 side in the world.

They should have been leading this series 2-0 if it not had been bad light in Kolkata. India have been consistently posting high totals and this have proven to be decisive.

Bowlers have picked up 20 wickets and that is one of the main reasons for India’s dominance in the Test arena.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka have failed miserably against India in terms of posting high totals in Test matches. They will need to improve upon that quickly or else get hammered again.

The pitch in Delhi will be on the slower side. The weather forecast says that all five days should be sunny, pleasant and bright.

Team news and possible line-ups

Roshen Silva might make his Test debut for Sri Lanka in Delhi. While Lahiru Gamage might be replaced by Vishwa Fernando as the latter have not lived up to expectations.

Rangana Herath have been ruled out of the 3rd Test as due to a sore back. He is replaced by Jeffrey Vandersay, who is yet to play Test cricket. In Herath’s place, Sandakan might get the nod in the third Test.

As for India, Mohammed Shami will replace Umesh Yadav. But the rest of the XI remains the same.

Sri Lanka XI : Karunaratne, S. Samarawickrama, Thirimanne, Mathews, Chandimal (C), Dickwella (WK), R. Silva, D. Perera, Sandakan, Lakmal, V. Fernando.

India XI : M. Vijay, KL Rahul, Pujara, Kohli (C), Rahane, R. Sharma, Ashwin, Saha (WK), R. Jadeja, Shami, I. Sharma.

Prediction

I expect India to dominate this Test match and win the series 2-0.
