India look to make it 1-0 in Nagpur against SL

India vs Sri Lanka
India play Sri Lanka in the 2nd Test starting on Friday
India are all set to play Sri Lanka in the 2nd Test in Nagpur starting from Friday. India go into this game as the favorites.

Date and Time : 24-28 November 2017, 9:30 AM (IST)

Venue : VCA Stadium, Jamtha, Nagpur

It might have been a draw in the first Test in Kolkata but India came very close to winning it. In the end they pressed very well for an unlikely win.

Rain and bad light were the main reasons we didn’t get a result in Kolkata. But it shouldn’t be the case in Nagpur, which means we will get to see some good cricket.

Sri Lanka will be confident going into this game as they were pretty good in the first innings with the bowl and over all as they restricted a strong Indian batting line-up.

On the other hand, India will also take some positives as the way they came back and almost won the game. Although they have to make sure they don’t repeat the same mistakes.

Team news and possible line-ups

Suranga Lakmal is doubtful for the second Test as he is not fully fit. While Lahiru Gamage wasn’t good in the first Test and his place is under threat.

Vishwa Fernando might be given a place in the playing XI.

As for India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shikhar Dhawan will be unavailable for Nagpur Test. They will both be replaced by Ishant Sharma and Murali Vijay.

Sri Lanka XI : Karunaratne, Samarawickrama, Thirimanne, Mathews, Chandimal (C), Dickwella (WK), Shanaka, D. Perera, Herath, Lakmal, V. Fernando.

India XI : Vijay, KL Rahul, Pujara, Kohli (C), Rahane, Saha (WK), Ashwin, R. Jadeja, Shami, I. Sharma, U. Yadav.

Prediction

Toss will once again be crucial. But I expect India to win this game, although Sri Lanka are a formidable side.
