Qatar take on Senegal in both teams second World Cup group game as Group A moves ahead in Qatar 2022. Both teams will be looking for a win here.

Kick-off : 4:00 PM (Local)

Hosts Qatar are in a spot of bother after their opening day loss to South Americans Ecuador. They are in a situation of a do or die now. They must win their remaining encounters.

The Maroon didn’t defend well on Sunday nether did they attacked properly, they would want to correct that. If all stars align who know they might reverse the result against the Africans.

Boss Felix Sanchez will likely use a 5-3-2 system against Senegal.

On the other hand, Senegal themselves didn’t cover them in glory loosing their opening encounter to the dutch. They also lost 0-2 and are in much need of a win.

The Lions of Teranga would want to show their seniority at the level playing to a new team like Qatar and they need to keep solid at the back while trying up at the front.

Manager Aliou Cisse will likely deploy a 4-2-3-1 system against Qatar.

Team news and possible lineups

Abdou Diallo and Seny Dieng are both available for Senegal and might play. While Cheikhou Kouyate is injured and wont be available.

As for Qatar, Meshaal Barsham is available and might play.

Qatar XI : Barsham, Pedro Miguel, Khoukhi, Salman, A. Hassan, Ahmed, Al Haydos, Boudiaf, Hatem, Ali, Afif.

Senegal XI : Dieng, Sabaly, Koulibaly, Cisse, Diallo, I. Gueye, N. Mendy, Ndiaye, I. Sarr, Diatta, Dia.

Prediction

I think Senegal will be huge favourites for this game and I can see Qatari hopes getting dashed early. 2-0 for Senegal.
