England look for three points as they host Slovenia

England vs Slovenia
England will play Slovenia on Thursday night in FIFA World Cup 2018 Qualifiers
England are set to host Slovenia on Thursday night in FIFA World Cup 2018 Qualifiers. Both teams will look for three points in this game.

Kick-off : 6:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Wembley Stadium, Wembley

The Three Lions were held to a goalless draw last year in Ljubljana but would know that a victory on Thursday will secure their place for next year’s World Cup.

England will also qualify for the World Cup with a draw if Scotland and Slovakia share points in Glasgow.

Slovenia will be hoping that they don’t loose in London as they can then still be in contention to qualify directly for the World Cup.

It should be a good game on Thursday night as both teams will give their all.

Team news and possible line-ups

Josip Ilicic is available and will be their key man upfront. Srecko Katanec will likely deploy the same playing XI as last year against England in which they grind a 0-0 draw.

Bostjan Cesar will likely start and also earn his 99th cap.

As for England, Harry Winks has been called into the squad following the withdrawal of Fabian Delph. While Harry Maguire will make his debut for England in the absence of Phil Jones who has pulled out of the squad.

Harry Kane will be their key man as he is in fine form at the moment. Jordan henderson, Gary Cahill and Joe Hart are available and will likely play on Thursday.

Slovenia XI : Oblak, Cesar, Viler, Skubic, Mevlja, Ilicic, Kurtic, Rotman, Verbic, Repas, Matavz.

England XI : Hart, Walker, Stones, Cahill, Bertrand, Henderson, Dier, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alli, Kane, Rashford.

Prediction

Its is not a given that England will beat Slovenia on Thursday but they certainly go into this game as the favorites. I expect the Three Lions to win 2-1.
