Germany look for three points away at Belfast

Belfast
Germany will play Northern Ireland in World Cup 2018 qualifiers
Germany will visit Northern Ireland on Thursday night in FIFA World Cup 2018 Qualifiers. The Germans go into this game as the favorites.

Kick-off : 6:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Windsor Park, Belfast

Die Mannschaft are just a draw away from qualifying for next summers World Cup. They have won eight games out of eight played so far in this qualifying campaign.

Germany have scored 35 while conceding just 2 in the process. This is the reason that they are topping Group C presently.

That said, Northern Ireland are still in mathematically with a chance of dethroning the Germans. They have been solid in terms of defending so far.

Northern Ireland will be well supported by their home crowd. The visitors will not have it easy on Thursday night.

Team news and possible line-ups

Jonny Evans is available and will likely play against Germany on Thursday night. He is their key player.

Michael McGovern will keep for Northern Ireland in this game. Steven Davies will captain the side.

Stuart Dallas, Conor Washington and Josh Magennis will be the front three.

As for Germany, they will be without their number one goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and Timo Werner will not be available as due to injury. Ter Stegen is available and will likely replace Neuer.

Leroy Sane, Sandro Wagner and Lars Stindl will be the front three for Germany in this game.

Northern Ireland XI : McGovern, Cathcart, J. Evans, McAuley, Brunt, C. Evans, Davies, Norwood, Washington, Dallas, Magennis.

Germany XI : Ter Stegen, Boateng, Hummels, Rudiger, Plattenhardt, Kimmich, Muller, Kroos, Draxler, Stindl, Wagner.

Prediction

It is not a given that Germany will win on Thursday night but they certainly go into this game as the favorites. I expect Germany to win this game three goals to one.
