Brazil eye win against Switzerland in FIFA World Cup Group E

Brazil vs Switzerland
Brazil will play Switzerland in their opening game of 2018 world cup
Brazil and Switzerland are set to play each other Sunday night as both begin their world cup campaigns. Brazil go into this game as the favorites.

Kick-off : 9:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Rostov Arena, Rostov-on-Don

Brazil the five time world champions are always amongst the favorites to lift the title. They will be desperate for success this time around as it’s been 16 years since they won the last world cup.

It’s a pretty tough group in which they are in and contains the likes of Switzerland, Serbia and Costa Rica. Their first game is crucial and might set them up for the rest of the tournament. Brazil were good in the friendlies just before the world cup and are in good form.

On the other hand, Switzerland have always been the underdogs in the FIFA World Cups and they wanna change this reputation. It’s not going to be easy as they face a tough task in their first world cup game in Russia facing the Selecao.

Switzerland performed well in world cup warm-up friendlies and are in form.

The Brazilians and the Swiss have played each on three previous occasions with each winning once, drawing once and loosing once.

Team news and possible line-ups

Stephan Lichsteiner will captain Switzerland on Sunday. While Xherdan Shaqiri and Granit Xhaka are both available and will play.

As for Brazil, Marcelo will captain them. Whereas all the star players, Neymar, Phillipe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino are ready for the tournament to begin.

Switzerland XI : Sommer, Lichsteiner, Schar, Akanji, Rodriguez, Xhaka, Behrami, Shaqiri, Dzemaili, Embolo, Seferovic.

Brazil XI : Alisson, Danilo, Silva, Miranda, Marcelo, Casemiro, Paulinho, Coutinho, Willian, Neymar, Jesus.

Prediction

I expect Brazil to get the job done on Sunday night and earn three points although Switzerland should provide a tough challenge. I think Brazil will win 2-0.
