World Champions Germany eye big win against South Korea to reach last 16

Germany vs South Korea
Germany will play South Korea on Wednesday in their final game of the group stage
Germany and South Korea are set to go head to head on Wednesday in their final group game of 2018 FIFA World Cup. Germany go into this game as the favorites.

Kick-off : 5:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Kazan Arena, Kazan

Germany the defending world champions will fight for pride and progression to the next round. It has been a bit of a struggle thus far in the tournament for the mighty Germans. But they would like to correct their earlier mistakes.

It won’t be that hard against an Asian side in Korea but they shouldn’t be complacent. If Germany play normal football they will go through to the next round as they are a juggernaut.

On the other hand, South Korea themselves have a chance of progressing to next round if they defeat Germany and Sweden lose to Mexico. But winning against the world champions will be a near impossible task and Korea Republic will have to give their all.

Die Mannschaft has a better record against the East Asians and they will like to live up to the expectation.

Team news and possible line-ups

South Korea are likely to play the same XI as in their last game against Mexico.

As for Germany, Jerome Boateng will not be available for them for this game as due to suspension. While Sebastian Rudy is doubtful.

South Korea XI : Cho, Y. Lee, Jang, Y. Kim, M. Kim, Ju, Ki, Moon, J. Lee, Hwang, Son.

Germany XI : Neuer, Kimmich, Sule, Hummels, Hector, Gundogan, Kroos, Muller, Draxler, Reus, Werner.

Prediction

I expect this to be a closely fought contest between two teams which are pushing for a spot in last 16. But in the end I think Germany will come out on top. I think they are gonna win 3-1.
