Team India eye winning start against world champions Windies in three match T20I series in Kolkata

India vs Windies
India will play The West Indies in the first T20I on Sunday in Kolkata
India and The West Indies are set to play each other in the first T20I in Kolkata as the tour moves ahead. Team India go into this game as the favourites.

Date and Time : 4th November 2018, 7:00 PM IST

Venue : Eden Gardens, Kolkata

India are in good form at the moment in the limited overs format and should look to make that count. The ODI series is now over and it was a pretty successful one. The focus now shifts on the three match T20I series.

It is a well known fact that Windies love this format and they are a dangerous side. So Team India will be required to post pretty much high scoring totals if possible in every match batting first. Also the bowlers will be required to be quite economical.

In short both the Batters and the Bowlers will be tasked highly in this tough series.

On the other hand, The West Indies know they are the Kings of this format and they shouldn’t let go the opportunity.

At the moment they are not doing well in the Tests and ODI formats and will be in a bit of a pressure. But Windies seems to be happy with the shortest format as their players seem to be of an unmatched quality in it.

They will be required to do the jobs in the next week or so.

Team news and possible line-ups

Carlos Brathwaite will captain the Windies in this T20I series. While Nicholas Pooran is available and might play.

As for India, Rohit Sharma will captain them in this series. Whereas Washington Sundar is available and might play.

West Indies XI : C. Brathwaite (C), S. Rutherford, Ramdin (WK), Pollard, D. Bravo, Hetmyer, K. Paul, R. Powell, F. Allen, O. McCoy, O. Thomas.

India XI : R. Sharma (C), Dhawan, KL Rahul, M. Pandey, Pant (WK), W. Sundar, D. Karthik, B. Kumar, Bumrah, K. Yadav, Chahal.

Prediction

I expect it to be a closely fought game, may the best team on the night which commits less mistakes win the game.
