Liverpool vs Southampton
Liverpool will play Southampton on Sunday in the Premier League
Liverpool are set to play Southampton on Sunday in the Premier League as the season moves ahead. The Red go into this game as the favorites.

Kick-off : 4:30 PM (Local)

Venue : St. Mary’s Stadium, Southampton

Liverpool are currently fourth in the Premier League after 26 games with 51 points. They trail table toppers Manchester City by 21 points although have played a game less. They need to keep winning games to finish in top four.

The Reds drew with Spurs last weekend and will be a bit disappointed. But they will need to lift themselves up ahead of the crucial away game against Southampton.

On the other hand, The Saints are currently sixteenth in the Premier League after 26 games with 26 points. They know they need to keep having positive results to stay out of the relegation zone.

Southampton defeated West Brom last weekend and must be in a positive frame of mind. But they know Liverpool will be a sterner test for them.

So far Liverpool and Southampton have played each other 107 times. Out of that the Reds have won on 52 occasions while the Saints have won on 30 occasions, 25 other games have been a draw.

Team news and possible line-ups

Other than injured Charlie Austin, Southampton have a full squad to choose from for the weekend game.

As for Liverpool, Joe Gomez and Ragnar Klavan are both doubtful ahead of the Southampton game. While Nathaniel Clyne remains sidelined.

Southampton XI : McCarthy, Soares, Stephens, Hoedt, Bertrand, Romeu, Lemina, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Boufal, Long.

Liverpool XI : Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Matip, Moreno, Can, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Salah, Firmino.

Prediction

I think it will be a close game. But Liverpool should manage to get the job done and earn three points. It will probably finish 3-1 in the Reds favor.
