Liverpool aim to finish 2017/18 Premier League season on a high

Liverpool vs Brighton
Liverpool will play Brighton on Sunday in the Premier League
Liverpool are set to play Brighton at home on the final day of 2017/18 Premier League. The Reds go into this game as the favorites.

Kick-off : 3:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Anfield, Liverpool

Liverpool will not be proud of the fact that they have lost two consecutive games in a row across all competitions.  Last weekend’s loss to Chelsea will specially be painful as they approach the Champions League final versus Madrid later this month.

Liverpool are in a tussle with the Blues for the Champions League spot for next season. If Jurgen Klopp’s men loose on Sunday and Chelsea win then Chelsea will play Champions League football next season. Liverpool need to atleast draw the game, then will qualify for next season’s UCL, a thing they should have done earlier. The Reds can also be in the UCL next season if they win this year’s final.

On the other hand, Brighton have done pretty well this term in the Premier League and are assured of top flight football next season. But they know that finishing on a high will be tough on the season’s final day especially away at Anfield.

Team news and possible line-ups

Steve Sidwell will not be available for Brighton for the weekend game as due to injury. Other than that they have a fully fit squad to choose from.

As for Liverpool, Joel Matip, Emre Can, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez will all be unavailable as due to injury. While Adam Lallana is a doubt. Also Klopp will likely rest Karius and Firmino.

Brighton XI : Ryan, Bruno, Duffy, Dunk, Bong, Propper, Stephens, Knockaert, Izquierdo, Gross, Murray.

Liverpool XI : Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Moreno, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Milner, Mane, Salah, Ings.

Prediction

I expect a Liverpool win here, they might win 3-1.
