Cry vs Ars
Arsenal open their 22/23 Premier League campaign with a trip to Crystal Palace

Arsenal play Crystal Palace in both of their’s first game of the new Premier League season as season 2022/23 moves ahead. The Gunners go into this game as the favourites.

Kick-off : 8:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Selhurst Park Stadium, London

The Gunners will look to go one better this time around in the new Premier League season as the disappointment of the last term again lures. They will look to play their brand of football.

The pre-season football was good for them as they won games of football. They must be encouraged by it but should be vary of the standards of PL football.

Manager Arteta will likely deploy a 4-2-3-1 system against a good Palace side on Friday eminent in games in pre-season. They will look to keep a clean sheet and score as many as they can.

On the other hand, Crystal Palace will look to finish higher than their position last season (12th) in the points table as they strive for more quality football.

The Eagles were overall very good in the pre-season games with success in almost every game except the games against the “Big Six” clubs especially Liverpool and Manchester United.

Manager Patrick Vieira might use a 4-3-3 formation against a solid Arsenal side with a solid backline and good showing up front.

Team news and possible lineups

Emile Smith Rowe is injured and hence won’t be available to feature in their Premier League opener.

As for Palace, Sam Johnstone, Jack Butland, James McArthur, Michael Olise and James Tomkins are all out injured.

Arsenal XI : Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Xhaka, Partey, Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Jesus.

Crystal Palace XI : Guaita, Clyne, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell, Schlupp, Doucoure, Eze, Ayew, Edouard, Zaha.
