New Zealand tour of England 2022 – 3rd Test, match preview, predicted lineups

Eng vs NZ
England will play New Zealand in the Headingley Test starting from Thursday in the third game of the 3-match series

England will take on New Zealand in the third Test of the 3-match series of NZ 2022 tour of England as the tour comes to a close. Both teams will be looking for a win here.

Date & Time : 23rd-27th June 2022, 11:00 AM (Local)

Venue : Headingley Carnegie, Leeds

England have been brilliant in their recent cricketing fixtures and would like to finish the New Zealand series on a winning note to win it 3-0. They will look to play their brand of cricket.

The English side batted well in their last Test match to chase down the New Zealand total of 299 in quick time. Jonny Bairstow scored a quick-fire 136 (92) and England would be expecting similar stuff from him. Bowling wise they were good to pick up the 20 wickets.

England will be required to be clinical in Leeds against a looking to make a comeback NZ side.

On the other hand, New Zealand were sloppy in their last fixture in not being able to resist the English batters who scored freely in the fourth innings. They will need to be improved from that performance.

The Kiwis though batted well in their first innings to amass 500+ and will aim to do so in games of Tests they play. Bowling wise is what they require more.

New Zealand have their next series in Ireland.

For the wicket, it is good for bowlers mainly pacers and teams must resist to score more.

Team news and possible lineups

There are no fresh injury concerns for both sides at the moment.

England XI : Lees, Crawley, Pope, Root, Bairstow, Stokes (C), Foakes (WK), Potts, Leach, Broad, Anderson.

New Zealand XI : Latham, Young, Conway, Williamson (C), Nicholls, Mitchell, Blundell (WK), Wagner, Southee, Henry, Boult.

Prediction

I expect England to start as favourites and to a lot depend on the toss.
