Liverpool eye progression to the quarter-finals of 2018/19 UEFA Champions League as they play Bayern Munich away in round of 16 2nd leg

Liverpool vs Bayern Munich
Liverpool will play Bayern Munich on Wednesday in the Champions League
Liverpool will play Bayern Munich on Wednesday in 2018/19 UEFA Champions League as the season moves ahead. Both teams will be looking for a win here.

Kick-off : 9:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Allianz Arena, Munich

Liverpool are doing well domestically but they would surely wanna win the Champions League. For that they have to play quality football. They know that and the first hurdle is Bayern Munich in the knockouts.

The Reds will be a bit disappointed that they couldn’t get over the line against Bayern in the first leg as it was a golden chance at home. But will now look to get the job done with slight more difficulty away.

It must not be easy as Bayern will not make it easy and it’s a given although The Reds will bring their A game into play.

On the other hand, Bayern Munich will themselves be extremely happy with the draw they earned at Anfield and should make full use of it to progress to the next round.

Bayern are a tough team to play at home and Liverpool will have to play extremely good football to beat them. Bayern will look to play their brand of football against Liverpool.

The Reds have a good record against Bayern Munich and they will look to continue the good work.

Team news and possible line-ups

Kingsley Coman, Arjen Robben and Corentin Tolisso will all be not available for Bayern Munich for the midweek game as due to injuries. While Thomas Muller and Joshua Kimmich are both suspended and hence will be unavailable.

As for The Reds, Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will both be unavailable as due to injuries.

Bayern Munich XI : Neuer, Rafinha, Himmels, Sule, Alaba, Javi Martinez, Thiago Alcantara, Gnabry, Rodriguez, Ribery, Lewandowski.

Liverpool XI : Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Henderson, Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Prediction

I expect Liverpool to win this game 2-1 and progress to the quarter-finals of 2018/19 UEFA Champions League.
