Liverpool aim three points against Newcastle at home in 2018/19 Premier League

Liverpool vs Newcastle
Liverpool will play Newcastle on Wednesday in the Premier League
Liverpool are set to play Newcastle on Wednesday in the Premier League as the season moves ahead. The Reds go into this game as the favourites.

Kick-off : 3:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Anfield, Liverpool

Liverpool are unbeaten and number one at Christmas in 2018/19 Premier League. I think this is their best run ever and they will hope to return to continue their aim of winning the Premier League.

The Reds are at the moment first in the points table after 18 games with 48 points. Against Newcastle they got another opportunity to seal their place at the top earning three more points. But they will have to maintain their standard.

Liverpool have their next three games against Arsenal, Manchester City and Wolves across the Premier League and FA Cup respectively.

On the other hand, Newcastle are struggling at the moment in 2018/19 Premier League and will look to change things as soon as possible.

The Magpies are at the moment fifteenth in the points table after 18 games with just 17 points. In Liverpool they have got opponents in the class of their own and Newcastle will have to play out of their skins and hope for the best.

Team news and possible line-ups

Ciaran Clark, Jonjo Shelvey and Karl Darlow are all doubtful for Newcastle for the Liverpool game.

As for The Reds, Naby Keita is available and will likely play on Wednesday. While Trent Alexander-Arnold is a doubt.

Newcastle XI : Elliot, Dummett, Schar, Lascelles, F. Fernandez, Sung-yueng, Murphy, Diame, Ritchie, Muto, A. Perez.

Liverpool XI : Alisson, N. Clyne, D. Lovren, V. Van Dijk, A. Robertson, G. Wijnaldum, Fabinho, X. Shaqiri, Lallana, Firmino, Sturridge.

Prediction

I expect The Reds to win this game comfortably. They might win 2-0. The goalscorers might be Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge.
