Germany will take on Northern Ireland on Monday in UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers as both teams look to secure a place in next year’s showpiece event. Germany go into this game as the favourites.

Kick-off : 7:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Windsor Park, Belfast

Germany after a torrid time against The Netherlands on Friday will be hoping to get things back on track as they look for three points.

Germany after the 2-4 loss to Holland are second in the points table after playing four games with nine points. The next opponents are Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland should be a tricky test although Germany should be able to tackle them.

Die Mannschaft will need to be very strong in defence and get as many goals as they can playing thier classical brand of football.

On the other hand, Northern Ireland have so far had an excellent campaign for Euro 2020 qualification and are yet to be beaten. But they need to continue in the same passion.

Northern Ireland have so far not yet played a big team in their group and have only taken points off Belarus and Estonia. Now will be a big test for them and will decide their fate.

They are currently 1st in the points table after four games with full 12 points. Germany next up meaning a tough one.

Northern Ireland need to take full advantage of the home conditions and put pressure on Germany. They need to defend well as a unit and go far that one point first and then attack on counter for maximum points.

Germany have a good record against Northern Ireland and they will look to continue the good work.

Team news and possible line-ups

Steven Davis will captain Northern Ireland against Germany.

As for The Germans, Ilkay Gundogan is a doubt.

Northern Ireland XI : Peacock-Farrell, McLaughlin, Cathcart, J. Evans, Lewis, McNair, Davis, C. Evans, Megennis, Washington, Lafferty.

Germany XI : Neuer, Ginter, Sule, Tah, Schulz, Kroos, Gundogan, Kimmich, Reus, Gnabry, Werner.

Prediction

I think Germany will win this game 2-1.
