Germany and Chile vie for Confederations Cup glory

This will be the first Confederations Cup final for both teams
Germany and Chile are set to go head to head in the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 final on Sunday. It will be their first Confederations Cup final and both teams will be eager to get their hands on the trophy.

The young German side dismantled Mexico in the semi-finals to advance to the final. Whereas Chile had to wait for penalty shootout to advance to the final.

Both the sides have been doing well in international tournaments in recent years. Chile won the Copa America, whereas Germany are the reigning world champions.

Chile squad have an average age of 29, classifying them as elder statesmen. But still they are a match for the experimental Germany team.

With players like Claudio Bravo, Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez, Chile certainly have a capacity to secure another major trophy on Sunday night.

Team and Tactics :-

Germany

Joachim Low’s men will be quite confident of a good showing in the final, though they know that Chile is the only team they didn’t beat en route the final.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen should again be entrusted with goalkeeping duties in the final. While Antonio Rudiger should be in the defence.

The German midfield should consist of Joshua Kimmich, Sebastian Rudy, Leon Goretzka and Jonas Hector.

At the attacking front the Germans are going to have captain Julian Draxler, Lars Stindl and Timo Werner.

Probable Line-up (3-4-3) : Ter Stegen, Ginter, Rudiger, Sule, Kimmich, Rudy, Goretzka, Hector, Stindl, Draxler, Werner.

Chile

Chile are a fantastic side with lots of talented players. They will be excited to reach thus far and will be looking to go one step further.

Juan Antonio Pizzi will be fielding his strongest side that will be available. Now, Claudio Bravo will obviously keep for Chile. Gary Medel and Gonzalo Jara should form a solid central defensive partnership.

The Mexican midfield should have players like Charles Aranguiz.

Up front it will be Vidal and Sanchez who should be the key man for Chile.

Probable Line-up (4-3-3) : Bravo, Isla, Medel, Jara, Beausejour, Hernandez, Diaz, Aranguiz, Vidal, Vargas, Sanchez.

Prediction

Germany should edge Chile 2-1. But it should be a good game.
