England play Senegal on Sunday in FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar in Round of 16 as the tournament moves ahead. The Three Lions go into this game as the favourites.

England will look to enter the quarter-final stage as they eye World Cup glory. They have been good at the group stage avoiding any defeat and look threatening in the tournament. They will look to play their brand of football.

The Three Lions have to show defensive solidity which they possess having not conceded in the last three games. In terms of the attacking front they aim to put goals to terrify the opposition.

Boss Southgate will likely have a four-men defence in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

On the other hand, Senegal the African champions were great in the group stages especially after the Netherlands loss and will aim for glory. They will have to play quality football.

The Lions of Teranga know they can be rock solid at the back against good teams while look for the finishing job going forward.

Idrissa Gueye is suspended for the Senegalese ahead of the England fixture and won’t be available. While Cheikhou Kouyate is injured and won’t play.

Prediction

It should be straightforward that the English should progress. But Senegal will not it let easy and hence a close finish for England in a 3-1 win.
