England look to play for pride as they take on Switzerland in the Nations League for the third place match

England vs Switzerland
England will play Switzerland on Sunday in the Nations League
England and Switzerland will go head to head tomorrow in UEFA Nations League 2018/19 third place match as both teams eye a win. England go into this game as the favourites.

Kick-off : 2:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Estadio D. Afonso Henriques, Guimaraes

England after the disappointment of not being able to reach the final of 2018/19 UEFA Nations League will now be hoping to at least finish third place for their loyal fans. Switzerland will pose a genuine threat.

The Three Lions succumbed to The Netherlands on Thursday after some awful defending. No doubt they will be disappointed but need to give credit to the Dutch who barring a few mistakes themselves were the better team.

England who also faltered at last year’s FIFA World Cup have no choice but to win the third place perhaps.

On the other hand, Switzerland will be disappointed themselves as they should have progressed except for Cristiano Ronaldo brilliance. They need to forget that and focus on England as win against them will have impact on their history.

The Swiss have got quality and they must play their best soccer and earn the victory tomorrow against a vulnerable English side. Good luck to them.

England have a very good record against Switzerland and they will look to continue the good work.

Team news and possible line-ups

Michael Lang is available for Switzerland and might play against England.

As for The Three Lions, Jack Butland is available and will likely play.

Switzerland XI : Mvogo, Elvedi, Schar, Rodriguez, Lang, Sow, Fernandes, Moubandje, Steffen, Drmic, Zakaria.

England XI : Butland, T. Alexander-Arnold, Keane, J. Gomez, D. Rose, E. Dier, J. Henderson, D. Alli, J. Lingard, H. Kane, Wilson.

Prediction

I think this game will be a tightly fought contest from which England should emerge out as winners. England to win 4-2.
