Ecu vs Sen
Ecuador play Senegal on Tuesday in Group A in FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar

Ecuador take on Senegal on Tuesday in Group A in FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar as the tournament moves ahead. Both teams will be looking for a win here.

Kick-off : 6:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Khalifa International Stadium, Doha

Ecuador having been in a good position in this group will now aim to qualify for the knockouts having been with four points. They will look to play with their minds set on the task.

La Tri drew last time out against the Netherlands and have shown defensive solidity. They will require similar efforts from the team against the Senegalese. Attack wise they need to stick with the same template.

Manager Gustavo Alfaro will use the 3-4-2-1 system.

On the other hand, Senegal themselves will be a little disappointed they couldn’t do the job against the dutch and lost points, the only difference between them and Ecuador. They will require lot of efforts now.

The Lions of Teranga know they can be more solid at the back giving away less chances to opponent teams. While on the attacking front they need to follow the winning template.

Boss Aliou Disse will likely use the 4-4-2 system.

Team news and possible lineups

Senegal are likely going to go with the same XI in the previous game.

As for the Ecuadoreans, striker Enner Valencia is a doubt.

Ecuador XI : Galindez, Porozo, Torres, Hincapie, Preciado, Mendes, Caicedo, Estupinan, Plata, Sarmiento, Estrada.

Senegal XI : Mendy, Sabaly, Koulibaly, Diallo, Jakobs, Sarr, Mendy, Gueye, Diatta, Dia, Diedhiou.

Prediction

It should be a closely fought contest between two of best second placed teams in the group. Although I think this game will not edge out a clear winner. So a 1-1 draw.
