England eye a place in the final of 2018/19 UEFA Nations League as they take on The Netherlands

England vs The Netherlands
England will play Holland on Thursday in the semi-final of the Nations League
England and The Netherlands will go head to head on Thursday in 2018/19 UEFA Nations League semi-final as both teams eye progression. The Three Lions go into this game as the favourites.

Kick-off : 7:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Estadio D. Afonso Henriques, Guimaraes

England have done well to reach here in the Nations League and they must carry on playing brilliant soccer if they aim to win the Nations League.

The Three Lions know Holland will be tough but England will play their brand of football to trouble the dutch. With the likes of Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford upfront, England have chances of scoring more goals threatening the Dutch defence.

England will play either of Portugal or Switzerland in the final.

On the other hand, Netherlands too have played good soccer to reach here and they will be tested now as the tournament as reached it’s business end.

Holland are a good side much like their opponents England. But to trouble England requires much patience and game strategy which Holland are capable of. They just need to apply.

They probably have two best centre-back pairings in the world in terms of  Matthijs de Ligt and Virgil van Dijk in the words of their own boss Ronald Koeman. So team is balanced and the game must be competitive.

England have a good record against The Netherlands and they will look to continue the good work.

Team news and possible line-ups

Kenny Tete will not be available for Holland for the semi-final of the Nations League as due to injury. While Georginio Wijnaldum is a doubt.

As for the English, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will both be unavailable as due to injuries.

Netherlands XI : Cillessen, Dumfries, M. de Ligt, V. van Dijk, Blind, Wijnaldum, M. de Roon, F. de Jong, Babel, Depay, Promes.

England XI : Pickford, Walker, M. Keane, Maguire, Rose, Barkley, Henderson, Alli, Rashford, Kane, Sterling.

Prediction

I think it will be a very tightly fought contest in which England is expected to prevail. The Three Lions to win 2-0.
