The Three Lions eye victory in the Netherlands

England vs Netherlands
England will play Netherlands on Friday in an international friendly
England are set to play the Netherlands in an international friendly on Friday in Amsterdam. England go into this game as the favorites.

Kick-off : 8:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Amsterdam Arena, Amsterdam

England are preparing for the summer’s world cup and are to play two friendlies in March. After playing Holland on 23rd they play Italy on 27th.

Netherlands failed to qualify for this year’s FIFA World Cup as did Italy. But should provide a sterner test for England.

The Dutch will be with their new coach Ronald Koeman. It will be his first game as boss and will be hoping to turn the fortunes of the national team.

The English had a disastrous last world cup in which they were knocked out in the group stages and finished last in their group behind the likes of Costa Rica. They will be pretty much eager for success this time around.

So far England and Netherlands have played each other on 32 occasions. Out of that England have won on 13 occasions while the Dutch have won on 9 occasions, ten other games have been a draw.

Team news and possible line-ups

Netherlands will be without the likes of Wesley Sneijder who has announced retirement. While Patrick van Aanholt, Nathan Ake and Virgil van Dijk are available and will play against England.

Also youngster Justin Kluivert might make his debut on Friday night.

As for England, they will be without the injured Harry Kane. Whereas coach Southgate have called up new guys like Nick Pope and Lewis Cook and they might make debut.

Netherlands XI : Cillessen, Fosu-Mensah, De Vrij, Van Dijk, Ake, Van Aanholt, Wijnaldum, Propper, Strootman, Memphis, Dost.

England XI : Pickford, Walker, Dier, Stones, Maguire, Young, Henderson, Wilshere, Alli, Vardy, Sterling.

Prediction

I think it will be a close game. It might end 1-1.
