Chelsea will host Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night in the Football League Cup. The Blues go into this game as the favorites.

Kick-off : 6:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Stamford Bridge, London

Chelsea will be looking to go further in the League Cup as Antonio Conte is eyeing one of the major trophies.

The Blues are five-time winners of this competition. In the last season they surprisingly lost to West Ham in the fourth round and their run ended.

Mark Warburton’s Nottingham Forest is struggling in the Championship this season. But they will prove no pushovers for Chelsea on Wednesday night.

It should be a good game between both the sides as they will give their all. But certainly Chelsea have an edge over their rivals.

Team news and possible line-ups

Mark Warburton is unlikely to mess around too much with the Nottingham Forest playing XI. They will play their strongest team.

Mustapha Carayol is likely to get a place in the starting XI after scoring against Wolves in the last game coming off the bench.

As for Chelsea, Antonio Conte has already hinted that Eden Hazard will be given his first start of the season in midweek.

The Belgian international had been suffering from the Ankle injury and is recovering from it.

Pedro and Danny Drinkwater will not be available for Wednesday’s game. While David Luiz will be unavailable as well as he is suspended.

Conte could give start to several youth players as well. The likes of Jake Clarke-Salter and Charly Musonda are all in contention.

Nottingham Forest XI : Smith, Darikwa, Mills, Worrall, Traore, Bouchalakis, Birdcutt, Carayol, Bereton, Mckay, Murphy.

Chelsea XI : Caballero, Clarke-Salter, Christensen, Cahill, Moses, Bakayoko, Fabregas, Kenedy, Musonda, Batshuayi, Hazard.

Prediction

I expect Chelsea to win this game 3-0.
