Chelsea return to the Champions League after a one-season absence. They will also be glad that they haven’t got a very strong opponent to begin with.

Qarabag is an Azerbaijani club making their debut in the group stage. They beat FC Copenhagen in the play-off round to qualify.

Chelsea will likely rotate their squad on Tuesday against against the comparative minnows. Antonio Conte has insisted for increased numbers in his squad due to the extra commitments.

After being defeated by Burnley, Chelsea have gone on to win against Tottenham, Everton and Leicester City. The trend will likely be continued against Qarabag in midweek.

Team news and possible line-ups

Ibrahim Sehic is available and will keep for Qarabag on Tuesday. While coach Gurban Gurbanov will likely have a four man defense.

Michel should be in the midfield for the Azerbaijani side. While Dino Ndlovu should be in the front line.

Whereas, new signings Davide Zappacosta, Danny Drinkwater and Willy Caballero could all feature on Tuesday. While Willian will be hoping of a place in the starting XI.

Qarabag XI : Sehic, Medvedev, Rzezniczak, Huseynov, Agolli, Qarayev, Guerrier, Michel, Almeida, Madatov, Ndlovu.

Chelsea XI : Caballero, Rudiger, Cahill, Christiansen, Zappacosta, Drinkwater, Kante, Alonso, Willian, Batshuayi, Hazard.

Prediction

Although one should not be complacent but since Chelsea are in a good form, we might consider them to win convincingly against a team like Qarabag. So I predict a 4-0 scoreline.
