Chelsea reached this stage of the FA Cup after defeating Leicester City in the quarter-finals. But now have a lighter task in hand as they face Southampton in the semi’s. Having said that, Chelsea will need to be a their best on Sunday.

Chelsea defeated Burnley in midweek in the Premier League in a close encounter and would wanna carry forward the winning process in coming games.

On the other hand, Southampton overcame Wigan Athletic in the quarter-finals of this season’s FA Cup. But they know they have a mammoth task ahead in the tournament as they face big guns Chelsea.

The Saints played a goalless draw with Leicester City in midweek in the Premier League and will be hoping for a better result on Sunday.

So far The Blues and Southampton have played each other 101 times. Out of that Chelsea have won 43 games while The Saints have won 30 games, 28 other games have been a draw.

Team news and possible line-ups

Sofiane Boufal is a doubt ahead of the weekend game for Southampton. While Mario Lemina will not be available as due to injury. Also Jack Stephens will also be not available as due to suspension.

As for Chelsea, Marcos Alonso will be unavailable as due to suspension. Whereas David Luiz and Danny Drinkwater remain sidelined.

Southampton XI : McCarthy, Bednarek, Yoshida, Hoedt, Soares, Romeu, Hojbjerg, Bertrand, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Long.

Chelsea XI : Courtois, Cahill, Christensen, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Moses, Kante, Fabregas, Willian, Hazard, Giroud.

I expect Chelsea to make it to the final of this season’s FA Cup. I think they will win this game 3-1.
