Chelsea come out comfortable winners against lacklustre Arsenal in 2018/19 UEL final

Chelsea vs Arsenal
Chelsea defeated Arsenal 4-1 in the Europa League final
Chelsea were comprehensive in their 4-1 victory over Arsenal in 2018/19 UEFA Europa League final. They will be very satisfied with the result. But for Arsenal it was a disappointment as the season has been.

The Gunners never looked like scoring only when Chelsea had done the damage did they score. It was a bad game for Unai Emery and question marks are being raised over his position as manager of Arsenal football club.

It was predicted the match would be a difficult one for both teams but nobody expected it to be this one sided as Arsenal seemed to make it look by their light efforts.

Maurizio Sarri has proven as a boss that he is capable of winning bigger trophies. He has done a good work with Chelsea and are in the good books now.

The travelling fans of both the clubs should be content with the journey they made this far to the Caucasus to witness quality football between two of world’s biggest clubs although Arsenal didn’t gave them much to witness.

In terms of the 90 minute football, it all started well with both clubs giving their all to get ahead but nobody eventually could as full first 45 minutes came to an agonising close. It was all the action in the 2nd half that decided the fate of this game.

The second half saw Giroud put Chelsea ahead in the 49th minute after a fantastic goal. The floodgates were opened and Arsenal were behind. Soon maestro Pedro doubled the lead as Arsenal crumbled under pressure.

Their were couple of more goals in the 65th and 69th minute respectively but Arsenal were 1-3 behind and the game seemed to be out of their reach. So it was the Chelsea night as they scored another to make it 4-1 on the night to clinch a major European honour.

Arsenal are now out of contention for a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League. The party would have went long for Chelsea in Baku as midnight approached.

Now the focus of football lovers will shift to Liverpool vs Tottenham on Saturday for the Champions League final.
