Chelsea will take on Brighton in the New Year 2020 as the season moves ahead. The Blues go into this game as the favourites.

Kick-off : 12:30 PM (Local)

Venue : Amex Stadium, Falmer

The Blues didn’t had a great 2019 and they will look to begin the new year on a positive note hoping this year will bring them their best success.

Chelsea finished the year being 4th in the points table after 20 games with 35 points. The goal difference is +7.

The first opponents in 2020 are Brighton & Hove Albion. Should a tough battle as it’s an away fixture.

Frank Lampard will ask his boys to deliver playing Chelsea’s brand of soccer and get the 3 points. They need to deliver defensively as well.

On the other hand, Brighton didn’t had the best of year’s last year either. This year they will look to improve and take the club to new heights.

The Seagulls finished the year being 14th in the table after 20 matches with 23 points. The goal difference was a -4.

They should take advantage of a home game against a Chelsea side which haven’t been in great form this season. Brighton need to play a solid game from the back and get three points with being taking advantage in the final third.

Chelsea have a good record against Brighton and they will look to continue the good work.

Team news and possible line-ups

Jose Izquierdo won’t be available for Brighton for the Chelsea game as due to injury.

As for The Blues, Reece James and Olivier Giroud will be unavailable as due to injuries.

Brighton XI : Ryan, Montoya, Webster, Dunk, Burn, Bissouma, Propper, Trossard, Mooy, Jahanbakhsh, Maupay.

Chelsea XI : Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Zouma, Palmieri, Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Abraham.

Prediction

I expect it to be a close game which probably might end a 2-2 draw.
