Arsenal and Manchester United will go head to head on New Year’s day as the season moves ahead. Both teams will be looking for a win here.

Kick-off : 8:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Emirates Stadium, London

Manchester United won their last two games of 2019 to finish the year on a positive note. Being a big club no doubt they will want it to be one of their most famous year’s.

Currently United are 5th in the points table after 20 matches with 31 points. The goal difference is +9.

The Red Devils know it’s a big test to begin new year with a game at The Emirates but it’s the amount of task in their hands.

Man United will have to be cautious with their approach as Arsenal will go for the three full points. Maybe United need to sit back and defend and attack on counters. Only Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will know his strategy.

On the other hand, The Gunners have had a forgettable 2019 in which this season they have been way behind in the premier league. They will look to make 2020 a successful year.

Arsenal finished 2019 with being 12th in the points table after 20 games with just 24 points. The goal difference at the moment is -4.

No doubt they will have aspirations of winning the game against arch rivals Manchester United at home. But it’s easier said than done.

Mikel Arteta lost to Chelsea in the latter stages of their last game. They wouldn’t want a repeat of that performance. So they need to change the strategy and look for more goals rather than sit back. In short terms they need to be attacking.

Manchester United have the upper hand in terms of the head to head meetings between these two and Arsenal will look to change history a bit.

Team news and possible line-ups

Calum Chambers will not be available for Arsenal for the Manchester United game as due to injury.

As for The Red Devils, Scott McTominay will be unavailable as due to injury.

Arsenal XI : Leno, Maitland-Niles, Mustafi, Luiz, Saka, Xhaka, Torreira, Nelson, Ozil, Aubameyang, Lacazette.

Manchester United XI : De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Fred, Matic, Greenwood, P. Pogba, Rashford, Martial.

Prediction

Expecting it to be a closely fought game between two fierce rivals and it might end 2-2.
