Pol vs Wal
Match no. 1 of Nations League 2022/23 between Poland and Wales takes place today

Poland football team take on Wales football team in Wroclaw to kickstart the 2022/23 UEFANations League campaign. Both teams will be looking for a win here.

Kick-off : 6:00 PM (Local)

Poland have already qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and they must be confident ahead of the Nations League fixtures. They are in League A Group 4 of the 2022/23 Nations League.

They defeated Sweden in their last fixture in March 2-0 to advance to the World Cup finals.Poland play Belgium next on the 8th of June. The other teams in the nations league group are Netherlands, Belgium & Wales.

The Eagles are captained by Robert Lewandowski and their coach is Czeslaw Michniewicz. The boss might use the 4-1-4-1 system defending properly and being attacking in the final third.

On the other hand, Wales have not yet qualified for FIFA World Cup 2022 and they have to still play a World Cup qualifier either against Scotland or Ukraine to make them the 13th qualifier from Europe.

The Dragons last played a game against Czech Republic in March, a friendly which was a stalemate 1-1. Wales next match is against the Netherlands on June 8 in the Nations League.

The Gareth Bale led side have some very good players and they might use a 5-4-1 system on Wednesday under boss Page.

Team news and possible lineups

Matty Cash is available for Poland ahead of the Wales game and will likely play.

As for the Dragons, Daniel James, Aaron Ramsey & Joe Allen are all available and will likely play.

Poland XI : Szczesny, Cash, Glik, Bednarek, Bereszynski, Bielik, Zielinski, Goralski, Krychowiak, Szymanski, Lewandowski.

Wales XI : Hennessy, Ampadu, Rodon, Davies, Roberts, Allen, Ramsey, N. Williams, H. Wilson, James, Bale.

Prediction

I expect it to be a close game and might well end a 1-1.
