Team India look to assert further dominance

India vs SL
India will play Sri Lanka in the 2nd ODI on Thursday
India after winning the first ODI convincingly in Dambulla now look to take a 2-0 lead in the series. The match will be played on Thursday at Balagolla.

Date and Time : 24th August 2017, 2:30 PM IST

Venue : Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Balagolla

Team India played the 1st one-dayer last Sunday which they won. So they will be a lot more confident going into this one than the Sri Lankans.

Sri Lanka aren’t that bad a team as they have been made to show. Remember they beat India in the recently concluded Champions Trophy. They just need to be positive.

In Dambulla we saw the islanders make a great start but not being able to convert it into a big total. Niroshan Dickwella was a stand out amongst Lankan batters.

I think some of the senior players like Upul Tharanga and Angelo Mathews needs to take a lot more responsibility. While the youngsters also needs to be given more time.

As for India, their senior and junior players are all contributing for the team. Their are a lot of positives to take out for the Men in blue. Yuzvendra Chahal and Hardik Pandya are great finds.

Their’s no doubt that India are favorites to win the second game as well.

Team news and possible line-ups

Vishwa Fernando haven’t been that impressive in the games he has played, so Dushmantha Chameera might get a chance in the 2nd ODI.

Also, Lakshan Sandakan haven’t had a great success troubling the Indian batsmen, so he might be replaced by Akila Dananjaya, who is a fresh face.

India on the other hand will likely remain unchanged.

Sri Lanka XI : Tharanga (C), Dickwella (WK), Gunathilaka, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Kapugedera, Thisara Perera, Hasaranga, Malinga, Akila Dananjaya, Dushmantha Chameera.

India XI : Kohli (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Lokesh Rahul, Dhoni (WK), Jadhav, Pandya, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Bumrah, Chahal.

Prediction

On current form one might easily say India wins this one, but we know how good a team Sri Lanka are. It hopefully will be a good competitive game.
