India will play Australia in the first T20I on Sunday
India will play Australia in the first T20I of the two match series starting from Sunday as Australia arrive for their 2019 tour of India. Both teams will be looking for a win here.

Date and Time : 24th February 2019, 7:00 PM IST

Venue : YS Rajasekhara ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam

Team India after their newly found success in Australia and New Zealand will be hoping to build on that and make their own backyard a more stronger fortress.

India have been playing some really good cricket off late and another series awaits them as they play Australia for two T20I’s and 5 ODI’s at home.

They will look to play their best cricket and recently playing Australia plus the home conditions should help the Bowlers and the Batters. They will look to give their all.

On the other hand, Australia had a poor home series against India when India visited them at the end of last year till later last month. They will have that in the back of their minds.

But it’s a fresh series and with revenge on their mind they will look to play quality cricket and try beating India. For that they will need to adapt well to the Indian conditions.

India are ahead in terms of the head to head in T20I’s against Australia and they will look to continue the good work.

Team news and possible line-ups

Aaron Finch will captain Australia in the first T20I.

As for India, Siddarth Kaul is available and will likely play Sunday’s game.

Australia XI : Finch, Short, Handscomb, Maxwell, Stoinis, Carey, Coulter-Nile, J. Richardson, Zampa, Behrendorff, Lyon.

India XI : Dhawan, R. Sharma, Kohli, Pant, Dhoni, D. Karthik, H. Pandya, K. Pandya, Bumrah, S. Kaul, Chahal.

Prediction

It’s a difficult one to predict but India should get the job done and take a 1-0 series lead.

After losing the first match against Australia, it shows how team selection affects performance. Playing with 3 wicketkeepers is compromising with the middle order batting.
