Tata IPL 2022 – RCB vs KKR, match preview, predicted lineups

RCB vs KKR
Match no. 6 of IPL 2022 between RCB and KKR takes place today

Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Kolkata Knight Riders today in a classic encounter of the IPL. Both teams will be looking for a win here.

Date & Time : 30th March 2022, 7:30 PM IST

Venue : Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai

Royal Challengers Bangalore lost their opening fixture of this season’s IPL on Sunday to the Punjab Kings. They will be looking for a bounce back.

RCB are a quality side but as is the case with wickets in Mumbai they lost batting first. They amassed 205 in a loosing cause. They need to be careful on this DY Patil wicket.

The RCB lacked in terms of bowling against the Punjab Kings but Du Plessis and co batted very well. They will take positives from this fact. In terms of bowling they have good options considering last year’s sensation Harshal Patel and Siraj. Al they have to do is play positive cricket.

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders played brilliant cricket in the Tata IPL opening game and defeated the defending champions Chennai Super Kings. They will be in a confident mode.

KKR though will be playing on a different deck against RCB so will have to adapt quickly. KKR restricted CSK well in their previous fixture and bowlers will again be asked to do the job. While they batted well too and the same will be expected.

With players like Venkatesh Iyer, Varun Chakravarthy (India’s future), one can expect good competition from KKR this season.

Overall KKR has a better record against RCB with them winning 17 games compared to 13 of RCB in terms of the head to head.

As for the wicket, this deck will help fast bowling but batsman can play their shots. It’s better to chase here.

Team news and possible lineups

Their are no fresh injury concerns for both sides at the moment.

RCB XI : Du Plessis (C), Kohli, A. Rawat, D. Karthik (WK), Rutherford, S. Ahmed, Hasaranga, Willey, H. Patel, A. Deep, Siraj.

KKR XI : V. Iyer, Rahane, S. Iyer (C), Rana, Billings, Russell, Narine, Jackson (WK), U. Yadav, Mavi, Chakravarthy.

Prediction

I think toss will decide the outcome of this match to be honest with you. Teams will look to chase.
