Tata IPL 2022 – GT vs LSG match preview, predicted lineups

GT vs LSG
Match no. 4 of IPL 2022 between GT and LSG takes place today

Gujarat Titans will take on Lucknow Super Giants in 2022 Tata IPL opener for both teams as they mark their arrival on the scene. They will be desperate for a win.

Date & Time : 28th March 2022, 7:30 PM IST

Venue : Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai

Gujarat Titans as they seem like aren’t that new also to the IPL scene having been previously played as Gujarat Lions in IPL but still they are a new franchise and they return after some years. The moral of the story is that Gujarat fans have had a team in the past.

They are captained by Hardik Pandya and coached by Ashish Nehra. So they have the required set up. All they have to do is play to potential and express themselves.

GT are a team with good bowling options having the likes of maestro Rashid Khan in their team. The wicket-keeping options too are in aplenty as Aussie Matthew Wade and Indian test keeper Wriddhiman Saha are their behind the stumps. Batting wise they have Shubman Gill amongst their ranks.

As for the Lucknow Super Giants, it will be a first occasion in the illustrated history of IPL that a UP based team will play the tournament. So a proud moment for the Uttar Pradesh public.

Coming to the team LSG will be captained by experienced KL Rahul and coached by Zimbabwean Andy Flower. With that being the man behind the franchise one can expect professionalism.

LSG are a good solid side with a mixture of good overseas and Indian players. They have guys like Holder, Quinton de Kock along with Krunal Pandya. They will be looking forward to the competition.

This is nothing surprising that this is the first meeting between the two sides in the history of the IPL.

The Wankhede deck is a good one for the batters with some assistance for spinners.

Team news and possible lineups

Their are no fresh injury concerns for both the sides at the moment.

GT XI : Gill, Wade (WK), A. Manohar, H. Pandya (C), V. Shankar, Miller, Tewatia, R. Khan, Shami, L. Ferguson, P. Sangwan.

LSG XI : Rahul (C), De Kock (WK), E. Lewis, M. Vohra, M. Pandey, K. Pandya, Hooda, Bishnoi, A. Khan, A. Rajpoot, Chameera.

Prediction

I think toss will be crucial here. But with two new franchisees I expect a fascinating contest.
