Real Madrid aim to finish 2017/18 La Liga season on a high

Real Madrid vs Villarreal
Real Madrid will play Villarreal on Saturday night in La Liga
Real Madrid are set to play Villarreal on Saturday night in La Liga as 2017/18 season comes to an end. Los Blancos go into this game as the favorites.

Kick-off : 8:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Estadio de la Ceramica, Villarreal

Real Madrid come off a 6-0 drubbing of Celta Vigo last weekend as they prepare for the big Champions League final against Liverpool ahead. Real won against Celta without Ronaldo and this shows their bench strength.

Real Madrid will be hopeful that Atletico Madrid loose their game against Eibar at the weekend and they win theirs, so they can finish second in the points table behind champions Barcelona. Currently Real are third in the table after 37 games with 75 points and trail Atletico Madrid by 3 points.

On the other hand, Villarreal have had a fine season in the top flight this term as they find themselves on fifth in the points table table after 37 games with 60 points. After the 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Barcelona just a couple of games ago, The Yellow Submarine came back strong with a win over Deportivo and will be hoping to finish the season on a high.

Team news and possible line-ups

Pablo Fornals and Denis Cheryshev are both available for Villarreal and will likely play at the weekend.

As for Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane is likely going to rotate his squad and as a result Nacho and Jesus Vallejo might play.

Villarreal XI : Asenjo, Costa, Ruiz, Gonzalez, Gasper, Rodri, Trigueros, Cheryshev, Fornals, Castillejo, Bacca.

Real Madrid XI : Casilla, Hernandez, Nacho, Vallejo, Hakimi, Asensio, Llorente, Kovacic, Vazquez, Bale, Mayoral.

Prediction

Although it’s not a given that Real Madrid will win on Saturday night, they certainly are the favorites. I expect them to get the job done and earn three points.
