Premier League 2022-23 resumes as Aston Villa host Liverpool on Monday

Liverpool and Aston Villa lock horns on Monday in Premier League 2022/23 as the season moves ahead. Liverpool come into this game as the favourites.

Kick-off : 5:30 PM (Local)

Venue : Villa Park, Birmingham

Liverpool have not had one of their best seasons so far in the Premier League but definitely are thereabouts and so. They will look to get to winning ways. The Reds are currently 6th in the points table after 14 games with 22 points. The goal difference is a +11.

Liverpool lost to Man City in the EFL Cup in their previous fixture. They were ok in the December friendlies. And have been defending well in the Premier League. They will look to be at their usual best attack wise.

Manager Klopp will go with a 4-3-3 on Monday.

On the other hand, Aston Villa have not had a good season thus far and are only mid-table. They will look to get some points. They are currently 12th in the standings with 18 points after 15 games. Their goal difference is a -6.

The Villans had a mixed friendlies roundup in December. But in the Premier League have had defensive woes. While attack wise they have scored and will look forward to.

Manager Emery willl likely go with a 4-4-2 here.

Team news and possible lineups

Diego Carlos and Jacob Ramsey are both out injured for Aston Villa.

As for The Reds, James Milner and Roberto Firmino are injured.

Liverpool XI : Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, A. Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago, Salah, Nunez, Carvalho.

Aston Villa XI : Olsen, Cash, Konsa, Mings, Digne, McGinn, Kamara, Luiz, Buendia, Ings, Bailey.

Prediction

I think Liverpool will be favourites but Villa will give them fight. In the end Liverpool to win 2-1.
