Manchester United kickstart their new Premier League season with a home game against Brighton

Manchester United take on Brighton & Hove Albion in both of their first’s of the new 2022/23 Premier League season as the new season moves ahead. Man United start this game as the favourites.

Kick-off : 2:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Old Trafford, Manchester

Manchester United didn’t had the ideals of campaigns last season as they finished off way low and missed on Champions League football. They will look to do better this time around to give their fans back their lost pride. They will look to play their brand of football.

The Red Devils were good overall in pre-season games winning although not completely. They will be confident coming into the Premier League especially with a home fixture to start off.

Manager Erik ten Hag will likely deploy a 4-2-3-1 formation on Sunday to be defensively solid and get a win by being productive up front.

On the other hand, Brighton were impressive last season finishing in the top ten in the Premier League and they will want a repeat of that performance and go even better.

The Seagulls were quite good in pre-season football and won games despite not a perfect record. They will look to play confidently once the Premier League begins.

Manager Graham Potter will likely deploy a 3-4-2-1 system at Old Trafford to try to not concede and win the game.

Team news and possible lineups

Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Facundo Pellistri & Brandon Williams are all unavailable for United ahead of the weekend fixture, While Mason Greenwood is suspended. And Lisandro Martinez could make his debut.

As for Brighton, Jakub Moder is the only absentee.

Manchester United XI : De Gea, Dalot, Maguire, L. Martinez, Malacia, Fred, McTominay, Sancho, Fernandes, Elanga, Rashford.

Brighton XI : Sanchez, Veltman, Dunk, Webster, Lamptey, Mwepu, Gross, March, MacAllister, Welbeck, Trossard.

Prediction

I think Manchester United under the new manager will be raring to go and they must come out as winners 2-0.
