The two most successful clubs in English football history will come up against each other on Sunday as Liverpool welcome Man United at Anfield.

Kick-off : 4:30 PM (Local)

Venue : Anfield, Liverpool

Liverpool have shattered all records this season and have been unbeaten so far in this campaign. But now come up against a team which have taken points against them.

It’s a great rivalry which needs no introduction and both clubs will have different aims on Sunday. The Reds will look to avenge the lost points at Old Trafford while United will want to end Liverpool’s unbeaten run.

Liverpool’s 38-game unbeaten run is the third-longest in Premier League history, but it was United that ended the only two runs which have gone on longer – Arsenal’s 49-game streak in 2004 and a 40-game streak for Chelsea a year later.

Klopp’s side will need to be vary of United’s streak-ending form. Although Liverpool’s unfathomable run of 20 wins this season will be hard to comprehend.

Liverpool are 13 points clear of Manchester City at top with a couple of games in hand. And a whooping 27 points ahead of United with a game in hand.

Last weekend’s 1-0 win over Spurs had Liverpool another European record, of highest points being scored at this stage of the season than any club has managed in Europe’s top five leagues, amassing 61 of 63 on offer.

The relentless pursuit of a Premier League title in the modern era has led to Liverpool shattering the record books.

But Manchester United are a dangerous side, capable of lifting their game for the big occasions and have been unbeaten against the likes of Man City, Leicester and Chelsea this season.

Man United come on the back of two good victories across different competitions against Norwich in the EPL and Wolves in the FA Cup. So they will be confident.

United’s away form is a question mark as well and they will feel the pressure at Anfield. Liverpool haven’t been beaten at home in the league since April 2017.

Liverpool also have scored in each of their matches this season so far. So it’s all in favour of The Reds but United have been a team against whom they have struggled in recent times, meaning a good contest.

Head to Head

Liverpool have just won one of their last Premier League games against United.

Man United are winless in their last four visits to Anfield across all competitions since a 1-0 win in January 2016.

The Red Devils have won only one of the nine clashes across all competitions since then, but they have also defeated Liverpool 28 times in the Premier League.

Liverpool are expected to welcome Fabinho and Joel Matip back into their squads for this one. Although they may be introduced from the bench considering their lack of football recently.

The match will come too soon for Dejan Lovren, while Naby Keita, James Milner and Nathaniel Clyne remain sidelined. Klopp might go with an unchanged side for this one after last weekend’s Tottenham win.

United’s front three have been clinical this season but Rashford is in doubt after suffering a lower back injury.

Solskjaer is still without midfield duo Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay, while Luke Shaw will require a late fitness test and Eric Bailly and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are unlikely to be included as they work their way back to fitness.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane

Man United possible starting lineup: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Williams; Fred, Matic, Mata, Pereira, Rashford; Martial

Prediction

We say: Liverpool 2-0 Manchester United

The Liverpool team is in relentless form at the moment and they will like to show Man United, their bitter rivals, why they are atop and hence it would be a shock if Liverpool not win on Sunday.
